Sopro do Carimbó

As flautas feitas de embaúba são instrumentos tradicionais que estão na origem do Carimbó. A embaúba, uma árvore de rápido crescimento, é conhecida por seu tronco oco, que a torna ideal para a confecção de instrumentos de sopro. Além disso é comum encontrar preguiças descansando em seus galhos e formigas habitando seus troncos, num equilíbrio simbiótico: as preguiças se alimentam de suas folhas, enquanto as formigas, que vivem dentro da árvore, ajudam a defendê-la de predadores naturais. Já os pássaros curió e o sabiá são exímios cantadores da floresta.

The embaúba, a fast-growing tree, is known for its hollow trunk, which makes it ideal for making wind instruments. It is also common to find sloths resting on its branches and ants inhabiting its trunks, in a symbiotic balance: the sloths feed on its leaves, while the ants, which live inside the tree, help defend it from natural predators. Curió and sabiá birds, meanwhile, are excellent forest singers.
