Primeiro Vento

Feito artesanalmente a partir de troncos de árvores como a siriúba, e com couro de animais, seu som grave e vibrante marca o ritmo do carimbó, uma das manifestações culturais mais ricas do Pará. O curimbó é tocado com as mãos, sem o uso de baquetas, embalando festejos e brincadeiras de origens indígenas, africanas e ibéricas na Amazônia. O curimbó carrega consigo a ancestralidade e a identidade de povos ribeirinhos, transmitindo histórias, resistência e alegria nas comunidades que o preservam.

Handmade from the trunks of trees such as the siriúba, and with animal skin, it´s deep vibrant sound marks the rhythm of various festivals and dances, such as the carimbó, one of Pará's richest cultural manifestations. The curimbó is played with the hands, without the use of drumsticks, and its name is also used to refer to this musical tradition of indigenous, African and Portuguese influences. As well as being a musical instrument, the curimbó carries with it the ancestry and identity of Amazonian people, transmitting stories, resistance and joy in the communities that preserve it.
