Famosa por sua cerâmica, a arte tapajônica exibe peças detalhadamente ornamentadas, como vasos, urnas funerárias e estatuetas, muitas vezes representando figuras humanas e animais aquáticos. As águas dos rios, especialmente o Tapajós e o Amazonas, além de serem vias de transporte para esses povos, também simbolizavam a ligação deste plano com o mundo espiritual.
